The witch reveals that she was able to feel the sexual frustration and attraction he has towards his brother, which takes Dean by surprise.
In true Winchester fashion, they don’t talk about it after they kill the witch. Dean becomes increasingly more attracted to his brother, the attraction often invading his dreams, so he pulls away, using alcohol and random hook ups to try to avoid Sam and deal with it.
Sam realizes something is up and demands to know what is going on with Dean. That is when they finally figure out just how close they really can be.
